April is Financial Literacy Month, and The Atlantic Federal Credit Union hosted a Financial Reality Fair at Union High School during the month to help local students learn about budgeting and financial concepts before life after graduation.

In partnership with volunteers from fellow CrossState Credit Union Association members, The Atlantic presented a hands-on event walking students through a budget sheet requiring them to live within their hypothetical monthly salaries while paying for basics such as housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, and food, while also factoring in additional expenditures such as entertainment and travel.
The day was filled with engagement and enthusiasm among students as they experienced some of the financial challenges they will face when they start life on their own.
With the power of community, we can make sure each and every month is focused on financial literacy and empowerment.
