We are celebrating 90 Years of community, connection and financial empowerment.

Ninety years ago, The Atlantic Federal Credit Union was founded by a group of AT&T Western Electric employees in Kearny, New Jersey. What started as a small, community-rooted credit union has grown into a trusted financial partner for generations of families, neighbors and local businesses. Our mission is quite simple: meeting the financial goals and objectives of our Members and the communities we serve today and tomorrow. We are proud to make a difference in the lives of our Members who live and work in Essex and Union counties.

Through nine decades of change, one thing has stayed the same—our commitment to putting people first. From helping Members buy their first car, to saving for college, to buying a home, and planning for retirement, we’ve been here every step of the way.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about where our financial cooperative is headed. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just looking back—we’re looking forward. With new tools, smarter banking, and the same heart for community, we’re ready for the next 90 years. To our Members, partners, and neighbors: thank you for being part of our story. This celebration belongs to all of you.
